Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian slept with the Super Cup trophy after his penalty heroics against Chelsea on Wednesday.

The former West Ham shot-stopper posted a photo on Instagram of the trophy resting on a Spanish flag on his bed with the caption 'good night!!!'.

Jurgen Klopp's second-choice keeper saved Tammy Abraham's spot-kick as the Reds won 5-4 on penalties following a 2-2 draw after extra-time.

The Reds' No 1, Alisson, was watching the game on his laptop and was wearing a protective boot having injured his calf in Liverpool's opening-day Premier League win over Norwich.
The Brazil international is set to be out for a 'few weeks' at least but Adrian was more than an able deputy on Wednesday.

He was, however, unable to keep out Olivier Giroud's opener before Sadio Mane equalised just after half-time.

The game then went into extra-time as the two sides could not be separated and Mane quickly put the Reds in front.

Abraham then won a penalty in the second half of added time as Adrian came steaming out of his goal.

Replays looked inconclusive as to whether Adrian had touched the Chelsea forward but VAR did not overturn Stephanie Frappart's decision.

Jorginho converted which sent the game to a penalty shootout and resulted in the Champions League winners lifting the trophy.
