Bayern Munich have officially confirmed that they have parted company with head coach Niko Kovac.

Kovac is now under intense pressure following a shocking 5-1 Bundesliga defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Now he'll no longer be the boss for Bavarians.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT:

FC Bayern Munich have relieved head coach Niko Kovac of his duties as head coach.

That was the result of a mutual discussion with Niko Kovac on Sunday involving Bayern president Uli Hoeneß, CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic, during which Niko Kovac offered his resignation.

Assistant coach Hansi Flick will take charge of the Bayern first team until further notice and prepare the team for the important games in the Champions League against Olympiacos on Wednesday and Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
