Complex first reported the removal of Kobe merchandise from the company's website after it had issued a statement Sunday following the 41-year-old’s death calling him “one of the greatest athletes of his generation” and offering condolences to his surviving family members.

A search for any Kobe-related products on the popular shoe and athletic-wear company’s webstore leads only to Los Angeles Lakers-themed gift cards and a memorial page featuring a short tribute written in honor of the athlete.

“Along with millions of athletes and fans throughout the world, we are devastated by today’s tragic news,” the tribute reads. “We extend our deepest sympathies to those closest to Kobe, especially his family and friends.”

“He was one of the greatest athletes of his generation and has had an immeasurable impact on the world of sport and the community of basketball,” it continues. “He was a beloved member of the Nike family. We will miss him greatly. Mamba forever.”

Kobe's 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, was also among the nine people killed in a helicopter crash Sunday in California. Kobe is survived by his wife Vanessa and three daughters Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and Capri, 7 months old.
