World Football Governing Body, FIFA has congratulated Odion Ighalo on becoming the first Nigerian player to score for Manchester United.

FIFA revealed via Twitter.

Odion Ighalo was handed his first start as Manchester United player for the second leg Europa League game against Club Brugge at the Old Trafford.

Ighalo scored for Manchester United in the 34th minutes after an assist from Juan Mata to make it 2-0 in the game the home to won 5-0, thereby qualifying to the next round 6-1 on aggregate after the reverse fixture ended 1-1 in Belgium a week ago.

The 30 year-old joined Manchester United on loan from China.

Ighalo becomes the first ever Nigerian to score for Manchester United in the Europa League.
