The club captain scored in extra time of the Europa League loss at the Emirates Stadium against Olympiacos as the Gunners went out via the away goal rule.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has sent a brilliant message to Gunners' captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the team's Europa League exit against Olympiacos.

The striker thought that he had done enough to put Arsenal through to the next round of the competition in extra time of the 2-1 defeat to the Greek side, but their opponents struck back with a late blow to go through via the away goal rule.

Following the game, Aubameyang put a message to fans on social media.

"I Woke up This Morning praying as usual and i thanks God for what he gave me," he wrote

"An incredible Family and you Fans are part of it thanks for all the messages and the love i received since yesterday.
"Football is great Even if he gives you sometimes Strange emotions but i Take it as a lesson again and keep my head up Season’s Not over yet we’ll fight as a Team Till the end."

Former striker Ian Wright also took the time to reply to the player in a heartfelt message.

"We love you!!! This club loves you. Our fans love you. Forget about last night," he wrote.

"If you weren't here with all due respect to the rest of our team we'd be in deep trouble. For you to score the amount of goals you are scoring whilst doing all that defending is just incredible!!! (Please stay and sign the ting)."

Aubameyang and Arsenal will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Fratton Park to take on Portmouth in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
