Spotify trick which allows you listen to music with friends and family at same time

Spotify feature allows members to listen to music with friends and family at the same time in different households. 

The extension allows people to set up a 'group session' so everyone in the group can control the music and listen to the tunes together without being in the same room.

The option was launched quietly at the end of 2019 but has recently become more popular as many Australians are stuck in their homes due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The best way to get your family and friends to connect is by sending your code (pictured) to them so they can open it up on a computer, and use the camera on their phone to scan it.

To access your code, tap on 'Devices Available', which is located at the bottom of the screen

To get started, you all need a Spotify Premium account to create the group.

Next, open Spotify and play a song, then tap on Devices Available in the bottom of the screen. Find the sharing code under 'Start a group session'.

A friend or family can scan this code from their device by pointing the camera at it.

The best way to do this step is to send the screen grab of your code to them so they can open it up on a computer, and use the camera on their phone to scan it.

Once you're accepted, you can all control the music. To leave a group session, simply tap Lease Session under 'In a group session'. If the music's playing from your device, tap 'End Session'.

Other users have reported using the music service called JQBX, which allows people to create a public or private 'room', decide on how many DJ's can take turn to play music and invite as many friends as you'd like to join.
