It's been gathered that Bukayo Saka is currently on his final year of his deal with the London outfit.
The 18 years old has been a sensation following his introduction into the team under Unai Emery due to injuries to Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney.Saka was drifted to the left back position.
So far, Saka has three goals and 11 assists.
Apparently, coach Mikel Arteta believes the youngster will pen a new deal soon.
Speaking ahead of Southampton clash, he said: "I am very positive that everything is going to be done with Bukayo very shortly.
“The communications between the club, agents and the family has been going on for months and is very fluent."
The Gunners yet to record a win in their last two games since the league restarted on June 17. Arsenal have suffered back to back losses against Manchester City and Brighton Hove Albion.
He added: “The player and family knows how much trust I have in him. I think he is just showing that every week and his consistency level is getting better and better.
“I’m so excited with the young players that we have. They just need the right environment around them to explode and Bukayo is doing that even in difficult circumstances which is even more merit for him.”
Yesterday, Arsenal announced that Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares have signed a long term deal after your loan deals were made permanent.
Also, David Luiz whose deal runs out at the end of the season is expected to be with the club for another season, as Dani Ceballos loan deal was extended till the campaign runs out.
Arsenal travel to Saint Mary's stadium on Thursday at 6pm GMT.
