Chelsea have agreed to sign RB Leipzig in form stormer for a fee of £53m. The deal is expired to be made official in the coming months.
Meanwhile, the Bundesliga 2019/2020 season is expected to come to an end this weekend, with RB Leipzig sitting third on the league standings with 63 points.
Timo Werner has been in sublime form finding the back of the net 26 times for Leipzig in the league.
Chelsea leapfrogged Liverpool to signing the 24 years old international. Reports have suggested that Blues defender Antiono Rudiger played a key role in the transfer.
Speaking on Chelsea's official website, he said: 'His development was just "wow". In his first season everything was new for him in men's football but then he started scoring more goals and of course with that comes confidence. He had very good coaches who believed in him and worked with him.'
If you recall that Werner and Rudiger played together for Germany in their triumph in 2014 Confederation cup in Brazil.
Rudiger compared the forward to Jamie Vardy of Leicester City, saying the forward shares same attacking qualities.
Rudiger said: 'He's a really big threat to defenders. RB Leipzig is a more counter-attacking team but in terms of attacking the defensive line, he's similar to (Leicester's Jamie) Vardy.
'He has a lot of pace and if the defender makes a mistake and loses the ball, then he goes!'
