Chelsea will have it all to do in their final game of the season on Sunday when they face Wolverhampton.

The Blues needed a point going into the Wednesday's game against Liverpool to seal top four finish.

But three goals in the first half from Naby Keita, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Gigi Wijnaldum saw Chelsea down to 3-0.

Oliver Giroud pulled one back in the 45th minutes to keep the believe of a come back in the second half.

Frank Lampard switched his formation as brought in trio of Callum Hudson Odoi, Christain Pulisic and Tammy Abraham for more creativity infront of goal.

Roberto Frimino was there to head home a cross from Robertson to futher extend Liverpool's lead but Abraham found the back of the net after 61 minutes.

Speaking after the game, Lampard hailed both sides attacking prowess while admitting that the fifth goal by Chamberlain brought down his side moral.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard told Sky Sports: "It was an extraordinary game. Even when you say they threatened to run away with it, I felt we were in it. I could feel that in the way we were playing.

"Some of the stuff I saw tonight from our team was resilience and quality. At 4-3, if we didn't concede the fifth, I felt like we were coming. But it wasn't to be."

The result meant that the Blues will need to avoid a defeat against Nuno Espirito Santo side on Sunday, as Wolverhampton are in the race for Europa League finish.

On a disagreement with Klopp: "For me, it wasn't a foul from Kovacic, and there were a lot of things that weren't going our way. But I've not got a problem with Jurgen Klopp. The way he's managed this team has been fantastic.

"Fair play to Liverpool Football Club, they've won the league, but also don't get too arrogant with it. That was my point, but it's done. In match play, you can get emotional and that was it."
