Mauricio Pochetino raised the profile of Tottenham Hotspur in England under five years, as the north London side finished in the top four under the Argentine.
Recall that Pochetino broke into Europe after he managed Espanyol in 2009 and after two years with the Catalan side he moved to England to join Southampton.
The 48 years old managerial skill was soon noticed with what he achieved with Southampton in the Premier League given the limited funds and quality of players.
He was appointed as Tottenham manager in 2014. Pochetino highest feat was guiding Spurs to the final of UEFA Champions League final which they lost 2-0 against Liverpool in 2018.
He was eventually sacked in November 2019 as he wasn't able to replicate performance of the previous season, which saw Jose Mourinho come on board.
Pochettino was linked with return back to Spain to Barcelona following Quique Setien's sacking.
Barcelona has gone ahead to appoint Ronald Koeman as their manager.
Pochetino also added that he would not take charge at Camp Nou due to his links with rivals Espanyol.
"They didn't offer me to coach Barca," he told Marca . "I didn't see myself with [president Josep Maria] Bartomeu.
"I did eat with Ramon Planes because we have a friendship for many years, since 2009 when he signed for Espanyol."
On the rivalry between Espanyol and Barcelona, he admitted it would be difficult to managed Camp Nou outfit.
Pochetino played for Espanyol oj several occasions and he was an iconic player in the club's history.
He said: "I was ironic then. It was my first news conference at Tottenham and they asked me about the Barca rumours. Then I answered with my irony and I think I went too far, I said what I said.
"It sounds very nice for the radical Espanyol fan but I did not want to speak for that radical fan. Nor do I have to justify any statement because no one can question my love for Espanyol."
Pochettino also spoke on rumours to also manage Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, Serie A champions Juventus and Inter heading into the 2020-21 season.
Also, those positions are not vacant, with Thomas Tuchel remains in charge of PSG, Juventus recently appointed Andrea Pirlo and Inter still have Antonio Conte.
"Neither PSG, nor Juventus, nor Inter Milan [made offers in the off-season]," Pochettino added. "I did have a call from Benfica and Monaco. I have no need to lie."
