I Never Meant To Hurt Barcelona Fans - Messi

It appears that Lionel Messi seems to have ended his transfer saga and might be looking at brighter days ahead with Barcelona.

The Argentine shocked fans all over the world last month when he submitted a transfer request to leave the club. This came after their poor campaign, ending without a silverware and compounded defeat in hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Lionel Messi looked set to leave until La Liga released a statement that he's still under contract with the club and will not be allowed to leave as a free agent.

The 33 years old soon returned to training after missing a week under new coach Ronald Koeman.

Lionel Messi has been criticizing the club and president Josep Bartomeu following their recent transfer deals, which saw his close pal Luis Suarez join Atletico Madrid.

In an interview with Sport, Messi has stated that he did not mean to offend the club fans during the dramatic showdown with the Blaugrana.

According to him, he always had the club's best interests in mind.

"I take responsibility for my errors and if they existed, it was only to make FC Barcelona better and stronger," Messi said.

"I wanted to send a message to all the socios and fans that follow us. If at any moment, any of them were annoyed by something that I said or did, let there be no doubts that anything I did was always with the club's best interests in mind."

If you recall that Barcelona began their new campaign with a 4-0 win over Villarreal at Camp Nou with Messi scoring from the penalty and providing assist as Ansu Fati scored a brace over the weekend.

While Koeman will face Celta Vigo on  Thursday in his second La Liga match.

"After so many disagreements, I would like to bring an end to everything. We all have to be united and assume that the best is yet to come," the 33-year-old added.

"Uniting passion with excitement and motivation will be the only way to achieve our objectives, always united and rowing in the same direction."
