Liverpool fans were left in tears after their most experienced defender walked off the pitch on Saturday Merseyside derby.Carlo Ancelotti side welcomed the Premier League Champions, Liverpool to the Goodison Park on Saturday early kick off.
It all began when Jamie Pickford was Involved in a collision with Virgil Van Dijk, it seems to be a strong tackle from the English goalkeeper, and thr Dutch international went down and fell awkwardly.
With fans expecting a sending off and a penalty after the incidence happened in the box but the linesman waved his flag for offside.
Van Dijk was replaced by Gomes who ended the game at the back along with Matip who returned from injury.
Jurgen Klopp who was unhappy following the referee decision saw his side take the lead from Saido Mane who lashed home a cross from Andy Robertson.
Saido Mane returned from self-isolation along with Thiago Alcantara as they both test positive for Covid-19 weeks ago.
But Keane equalised with a header from a corner curled in from James Rodriguez just before half time.
Meanwhile, Liverpool took the lead for the second time when Mohamed Salah scored his 100th Liverpool goal when he fired home a poor clearance from Yerry Mina.
Calvert-Lewin who is currently in form headed a cross from Lucas Digne to level the game.
Jurgen Klopp side hope of picking all three points was cut short when VAR ruled a late goal from Henderson, as Saido Mane was judged to be in an offside position.
The game finished 2-2 at the end of 90 minutes.
Earlier today, it's been reported that Virgil van Dijk will be out for minimum of 10 months as he's set to undergo a surgery.
Taking to his social media space, he expressed his sadness as he's set to be out for a long time. But remain optimistic that he would be back in good shape.
"This afternoon I met with a leading consultant to start the process of planning the finer details of my rehabilitation following the incident yesterday," Van Dijk wrote on Twitter.
"I'm now fully focused on my recovery and will do everything I can to be back as quickly as possible.
"Despite the obvious disappointment, I'm a firm believer that within difficulty lies opportunity and with God's help I'm going to make sure I return better, fitter and stronger than ever before."
The Reds will begin their UEFA Champions League 2020-2021 season when they face Ajax on Wednesday.
He added: "In football, as in life, I believe everything happens for a reason and it's important to try and keep level-headed whether going through the highs or the lows. With the support of my wife, kids, family and everyone at Liverpool, I'm ready for the challenge ahead.
