The Super Eagles of Nigeria squandered a four goals lead against Sierra Leone on Friday to draw the game.
Many fans of the national team of Nigeria have been reacting to the result which handed a bitter taste in the mouth of the fans. 

Although it was a 4-4 draw but to Nigeria, it felt like a loss given the quality of players the Super Eagles paraded for the game.

Gernot Rohr men went ahead after Alex Iwobi found thr back of the net. Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen added two more before Alex Iwobi made it four just before half time. 

Nigeria looked comfortable in the first half as they controlled the pace of the game only for things to change in the second half. 


Sierra Leone came into the second half and staged am come back with three goals after they finished 4-1 in the first half.

Nigeria lost their striker, Victor Osimhen who sustained a shoulder injury. Osimhen suffered a dislocated shoulder at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium and he 
 was immediately replaced by Paul Onuachu. 

While Leon Balogun and Samuel Chukwueze were substituted in the game due to injuries precautions. 

Meanwhile the manager Gernot Rohr has given updates on Victor Osimhen, Balogun and Chukwueze. 

Nigeria will have a chance for a second leg in against Sierra Leone in Freetown on Tuesday. 

Rohr confirmed that the Napoli forward is out of the game due to a shoulder injury. 

While Leon Balogun and winger Chukwueze have recovered from their knocks. 

“[Osimhen] is out of the match after he dislocated his shoulder,” Rohr disclosed, as reported in the Guardian.

After Saturday’s training session in Benin, Rohr gave an update on the team before they departed for Freetown.

“The two players I took out (Leon Balogun and Samuel Chukwueze) were injured,” Rohr said. 

“Balogun had a little knock but he is okay. He did a little training with the team, it’s not painless but he will be okay.

“Dennis had a little injury in the last training session, his ankle is swollen and he cannot play, he can only run, and Chukwueze has a pain in the groin and could only work in practice today but we hope to get him back for the next game.”


Gernot Rohr will have to decided whether to select Kelechi Iheanacho, Paul Onuachu or Club Brugge forward Emmanuel Dennis to select for the striking option ahead of the game.

Although, Nigeria currently leads the Group L with seven points after two wins and a draw. It's understood that victory against Sierra Leone on Tuesday guarantees their spot for 2020 African cup of Nations in Cameroon.
