Arsenal have been unable to pick up any victory in their last eight games in the league. Their last victory came against Manchester United last month.
On Tuesday, Arsenal will host Manchester City in the knock out phase of the Carabo cup. The game is expected to kick off at 9pm GMT.
Ahead of the game as Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will miss the quarter-final fixture against Manchester City on Tuesday due to an injury.
Aubameyang is currently struggling with a calf problem and he's not looking likely he will recover for the game on Tuesday.
The Arsenal's captain has also been struggling for goals this season, he has scored five goals across all competitions so far this season. Aubameyang has only three goals in the Premier League.
“Auba is not fit for tomorrow, that's for sure,” Arteta was quoted by the club website.
“He won't be playing tomorrow so we will see who is available because we have a few doubts as well in other positions.
“Auba is feeling much better and he was more positive yesterday than in the previous two days."
Mikel Arteta went ahead to reveal that his captain is expected to undergo another scan this week to determine the extent of the injury.
If you recall he missed the weekend 2-1 loss to Everton.
Arteta said: “He will have another scan in the next few days and we will see how quickly we can get him back in the team. But we know how important he is for us and he feels that responsibility and he is trying his best to be back fit as quickly as possible.
“For the rest, I don't think we're going to have any news today before training.”
Prior to the game against Carlo Ancelotti side at the Goodison park last week Saturday, it was reported he sustained a calf injury.
An goal from Rob Holding put Everton in th lead before Nicolas Pepe equalised from the penalty spot. Just before half time, Yerry Mina headed what was eventual winner of the game.
Aubameyang took to his social media space to reveal he would miss the game, he posted:
“Hopefully is not going to take long to recover but I’m always behind my guys,” Aubameyang wrote on Instagram.
Also, Thomas Partey is still injured and continues his recovery from a thigh injury he sustained during clash against Tottenham Hotspur (a) on December 6.
While Granit Xhaka is still serving the last match of a three-match suspension which saw he pick up a red card two weeks against Burnley for a foul on Westwood.
But one good news for the Gunners is that Gabriel Magalhães is available after he completed his suspension following his red card against Southampton.
