Arsenal defeated Newcastle 2-0 after 120 minutes to secure the ticket for the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday evening.
Goals from Smith Rowe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang handed Mikel Arteta side the win at the Emirates stadium.
Mikel Arteta started his captain who has been faced with a goal drought in recent games.
But the manager when asked about the decision to leave him on the pitch for the entire 120 minutes, he said he wanted him to score a goal to build up his confidence.
Aubameyang got the second goal after a cross from Kieran Tierney which the club's top scorer tapped in the empty net.
