Real Madrid defeated Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames on Sunday evening to keep their hopes of winning the La Liga title alive.
It was Nacho Fernandes that scored the only goal of the game for Zinedine Zidane's men.

Real Madrid remain in second position in the league behind leaders Atletico Madrid who came from a goal down to beat Osasuna.

This means that the title is expected to be decided on the final game of the season.

Real Madrid have endured series of injuries to senior players in the squad so far this season.

Likes of Sergio Ramos, Rafael Varane, Lucas Vazquez are on the injury list and are expected to miss the remaining game of the season.

It's been confirmed that Toni Kroos has joined the list of absent players. The German international has tested positive for coronavirus.

Recall that Kroos missed Real Madrid's trip to Bilbao on Sunday as he was in isolation after he had contact with someone who tested positive for coronavirus.

This afternoon, Real Madrid confirmed that Kroos has tested positive and he's self isolating.

This means that the former Bayern Munich star won't be available for Real Madrid's Matchday 38 clash with Villarreal.

A club statement reads: "Real Madrid announce that our player, Toni Kroos, tested positive in the COVID-19 test he underwent today. Kroos has been in isolation since Friday, May 14, after having come into direct contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19."
