Thomas Tuchel has been named Germany's manager of the year. The former Mainz boss replaced Frank Lampard as manager of Chelsea early this year following disappointing results under Frank Lampard.
Recall that Tuchel was sacked as manager of Paris Saint-Germain last year, he was replaced by former Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Tuchel guided Paris Saint-Germain to the final of the UEFA Champions League but they lost against Bayern Munich in the 2019-2020 season.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss guided Chelsea to finish fifth in the Premier League table last season and they also won the UEFA Champions League trophy.
Recall that Chelsea defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the final in Porto, Portugal. Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the game in the 42nd minutes.
"I accept the award very gratefully as a great honour for the entire team because I see myself as a team player," Tuchel said after receiving the prize.
