Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has been voted Germany's Footballer of the Year. It is the second year in a row that the former Dortmund striker will pick up the award.

Recall that Lewandowski picked up the award for the first time in 2019-20 after he guided Bayern Munich to treble winning campaign.

The Poland captain represented his national team at the just concluded 2020 European Championship where they were knocked out in the group stage. But Lewandowski had great season with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga after he finished the season as the top scorer.

The 32-year-old is one of the hottest strikers in Europe at the moment. Lewandowski scored 48 goals in 48 games across all competitions for Bayern last season. He also broke Gerd Muller's 49-year-old scoring record in the competition.

Lewandowski won the award with 315 votes, while his team-mate Thomas Muller came second and Borussia Dortmund talisman Haaland came third.

Bayern won the Bundesliga title for a ninth successive year. The Bavarians beat second place RB Leipzig to clinch the title 13 points gap.
