Chelsea's Cesar Azpilicueta gifted special cake after his 300th appearance (Photos)

Chelsea captain took to his social media space to celebrate his latest achievement in the Premier League. 

César Azpilicueta is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Premier League club Chelsea and the Spain national team. The 32-year-old made his 300th appearance in the Premier League on Saturday against Liverpool. 

Recall that the Blues held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at Anfield stadium. Chelsea took the lead from Kai Havertz header. But Chelsea were reduced to ten men after Reece James was sent off because he handled the ball in the box, Mohamed Salah scored from the penalty spot just before half-time. 

Thomas Tuchel side managed to hold on during the second half to share the points at the end of 90 minutes. 

After the game, Cesar Azpilicueta, 32, was gifted a special cake by his football club to celebrate his achievement. 

The 32-year-old took to his verified Instagram page (@cesarazpi) to share the image with appreciation to his team mates, fans and the club. 

He captioned: "A bit of cake to celebrate my birthday and the 300 @premierleague appearances! Proud of the team spirit from everyone! Thank you for your messages and for your support! @chelseafc 😃💙🎂"

Recall that Cesar Azpilicueta joined the Blues in 2012 from French club, Marseille. The Spanish defender won the Europa League in his first season with the club.  Azpilicueta has also captained Chelsea to win the Europa League in 2019 and the Champions League in 2021.
