Davide Zappacosta has completed move to his boyhood club, Atalanta from Chelsea

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has confirmed the exit of defender from the club. 

The German tactician replaced Frank Lampard as manager of Chelsea in January. Tuchel guided Chelsea to finish fourth in the Premier League table last season. Chelsea also defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the final of the UEFA Champions League after Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the game just before the half time break. 

Early this afternoon, Chelsea confirmed the departure of Davide Zappacosta. The Italian defender has officially joined Atalanta on a permanent transfer. 
According to Sky Sports, the wing-back completed his medical this morning ahead of his €10m deal to the Serie A side. 

Recall that Zappacosta joined Chelsea for a reported fee of €28 million in 2017. He scored two goals in 52 games for the Blues.

The 29-year-old has returned to his boyhood club where he made his debut in 2014-15. He scored three goals in 30 games for Atalanta before he joined Torino in 2015. Zappacosta enjoyed loan spells with Roma and Genoa in the past.
He has been handed jersey number 77 at Atalanta.
