The defender was involved in challenge with Liverpool's Harvey Elliott who looked in serious pain following the tackle.
The teenager has been stretchered off the pitch with a serious injury and was replaced by Jordan Henderson.
Meanwhile, Liverpool currently lead 2-0 after Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk had scored to put Jurgen Klopp sóde in comfortable lead.
