Blackburn Rovers decided to open their stadium to accommodate the Muslim communities who celebrated their EIdul-Fitr.
If you recall that the Muslim community marked the end of their 20 days Ramadan fasting on Monday May 2nd 2022.
The Championship side hosted Eid prayers on the pitch to mark the end of Ramadan. It's been gathered that Rovers today became the first football club in the country to host the Eid prayers on the pitch.
According to reports gathered, there were over 3,000 local Muslims, who brought their prayer mats to Ewood Park for the Eid Salaah prayers.
The prayers and sermon were led by Sheikh Wasim Kempson. Also, Blackburn Rovers’ Chief Executive, Steve Waggott and the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Cllr Derek Hardman were also presented at the Eid prayer.
