La Liga club, Leganes have appointed Nigerian defender as their new captain

Spanish Segunda Division club, CD Leganes have appointed Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo, their new captain.

The centre-back joined Cucumber Growers on loan from Premier League giants, Chelsea in the summer of 2018. He made the decision to make the move a permanent in the year 2019 because he was not promised playing time at Chelsea.



If you remember, Leganes were relegated from La Liga last in the 2019/20 season , but the Nigerian player was willing to follow up with them into the next level in the Spainsh league.


Omeruo will be supported by the following players Juan Munoz Munoz, Jose Manuel Arnaiz, Sergio Gonzalez as well Asier Riesgo.


Imanol Idiakez's team will begin their season against Alaves on Saturday.
