
Premier League golden boot winner Mo Salah has been left out of the UEFA's male Player of the Year selection despite receiving the PFA Players Player of the Award at the conclusion of the last season.

It's believed that the UEFA award winners will be announced during the UCL draw on August 25, 2022.
A first shortlist of 15 players was narrowed down to just three , with Kevin de Bruyne the Premier League's sole inclusion, along with the Real Madrid's Karim Benzema and Thibaut Courtois.
The 15 players who will be starting the season were selected in the UEFA technical study group on the basis of players performance during the 21/22 season , both at international and club level.
The journalists and coaches were requested to choose the top three candidates from the shortlist using an algorithm of points used to decide which players would be the final selection.
Salah has scored 22 Premier League goals last season in his bid to win the golden boot award along with the Tottenham's son Heungmin.
The Egyptian scored eight more goals over the 11 Champions League appearances and guided Liverpool to FA and Carabao Cup glories, while aiding the Merseyside club to finals in the Champions League final.
Kevin Belgium's De Bruyne is the only player from the Premier League to make the top three. He Belgian international scored only fifteen Premier League goals and only scored two goals in the top European cup competition when Manchester City were knocked out by Real Madrid in the semi-final.
Real Madrid duo of Karim Benzema and Thibaut Courtois were the last to make the cut after their performances in the Los Blancos in winning the UEFA Champions League last season.
Benzema was recognized with an award. UEFA Champions League saw him being named the most successful player in the tournament. he assisted Real Madrid to a 14th title.
It is believed that the Frenchman was also a goal scorer in 27 matches in the last season when Real Madrid won La Liga.
Courtois received the Man of the Match prize in the semi-final against Liverpool after a series of top-of-the-line stops in the face of Sadio Mane as well as Mohamed Salah during the game.
