Mikel Arteta praised Fabio Vieira's versatility as the Portuguese midfielder gets ready for his debut and resolve Arsenal's issues.
The 22 year old Portugal international is one of Mikel Arteta's summer signings during the transfer window. The Spanish manager is reported to have splashed an amount of around £40m for the dynamic midfielder who could perform a variety of roles within an attacking role.
The eagerly-awaited debut of summer arrival Fabio Vieira is nearer and the Portuguese likely to be in the squad to play in the upcoming game against Leicester City. The Brazilian suffered a minor foot injury while in duty for international duty. This meant that he did not play in the preseason or the league opener in the league against Crystal Palace.

"I think that's something that the player is going to tell us," Arteta stated to football.london. "We have tested him in training at different positions.
"He has played on the left, or off the right and performed as a false nine attacking midfielder. He does not want to be locked into a single position because he's used to it. That's really good for us."
However the position he's played for Porto best depicts his playing on the right, whether as an attacking midfield option , or even in the right wing only. The heat map below shows this, however it shows the possibility of playing on the left side and play forward and protect in more midfield positions.
Based on this it is clear that there are four areas in which Vieira could be able to provide Arteta with cover, quality and competition. On the wings, there's false nine 10, number ten, and an advanced eight position similar to the one Youri Tielemans might play in the event of his arrival.
