England boss, GARETH SOUTHGATE wants to stick to Harry Maguire as his center back ahead their Three Lions world cup 2022 campaign.
The 29 years old English defender had been dropped for Manchester United's last three games in the Premier League.
Harry Maguire, 29, is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Premier League club Manchester United and England national team.
Manchester United boss Erik Den Hag has dropped Maguire who joined Red Devils from Leicester City in 2019 on record deal.
But two separate sources have told The Sun on Sunday that Three Lions boss Southgate has contacted Maguire to let him know he remains a key part of his plans ahead of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
One source said: “Gareth has been in contact and assured him that he has a lot of credit in the bank with England thanks to his previous performances.
“Naturally he wants to play and is worried that not getting game time might affect his place in the England team ahead of the World Cup.
"But he's spoken to Gareth who has told him he has no need to worry at the moment."
Maguire who hasn't started a game for Manchester United this season is expected to start for England when they face Italy on September 23 and then Germany three days later in the UEFA Nations League tournament.
The source added: "He's been told there's enough credit in the bank with England because he has never let the national side down."
The Three Lions of England first World Cup fixture is against Iran on November 21.
The source told the Sun that Southgate has reassured the English defender, "For the time being at least, he's still firmly part of the manager's plans for Qatar.
“Gareth reached out to give him reassurance in the hope it helps him concentrate on his training and his form so as and when ten Hag calls on him, he is in the right place to put in a good performance.”
Manchester United hope to secure third victory on the row when they face Arsenal at the Old Trafford stadium on Sunday.
The Red Devils season seems to have turned around after back to back wins to lift them from the bottom of the table.
Manchester United vs Arsenal kick off is 4:30pm GMT.
