Jurgen Klopp has decided to leave out 
Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Liverpool's Champions League squad. 

The Reds haven't been convincing in the Premier League this season so far. 

Liverpool were held to a goalless draw against Everton in Merseyside derby on Saturday at the Goodison Park. 

The Reds biggest win so far this season has come against Bournemouth, winning 9-0 at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are currently occupying 9th position in the league, with 2 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss. 

The Reds have will kick off their travel to Italy to face Serie A side, Napoli in their opening group stage game in the UEFA Champions League. 

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed his 24 man squad for the UEFA Champions League, which has seen Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby keita being omitted. 

Naby Keita who is a Guinean international is currently unavailable haven suffered a muscular injury during pre-season. 

If you recall that Keita arrived in 2018 from Leipzig, but has only played 117 games since then, missing 68 games through 17 different injury lay-offs. 


While former Arsenal star, Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn't been able to perform at his best due to several injuries and fitness crisis. 

The English international has featured 133 games in five seasons for Liverpool so far. 

Following the injury situation at the midfield at Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp completed the signing of Arthur Melo on loan from Juventus on deadline day transfer. 

The Brazilian has bee included in the UEFA Champions League squad.
