Arsenal's defender Pablo Mari has provided update on his injury sustained after he stabbed by knife man at a store in Milan.

The Brazilian center back was among six people attacked at a shopping centre in the Italian city during the week. 



Pablo Marí joined Italian side Monza on a season-long loan from Arsenal in August


Although, Mari who is currently on loan at Serie A side Monza didn't suffer serious injury during the stab. 

According to Milan's Niguarda hospital, Mari underwent surgery to reconstruct two injured muscles in Mari's back.

Pablo Mari took to his social media space on Friday to upload a snap of himself on the hosiptial bed shortly after the surgery.


Pablo Mari is expected to miss two months of football due to the surgery. 


He captioned: "After the hard time we experienced yesterday, both my family and I want to communicate that fortunately we are all fine despite the circumstances, and to thank all the messages of support and affection that we are receiving." 

It was said that Arsenal defender Pablo Mari had successful surgery on his back on Friday. 

The 29-year-old has received message from his parent club in Arsenal after he was being stabbed in a supermarket attack in Milan on Thursday.


Marí joined Arsenal from Brazilian side Flamengo in January 2020. 


Arsenal message reads: "Our thoughts are with Pablo Mari and the other victims of today's dreadful incident in Italy.
We have been in contact with Pablo’s agent who has told us he’s in hospital and is not seriously hurt." 

Pablo Mari is expected to be out of action for some weeks as he continues to recover from the injury.
