Pep Guardiola has provided injury update on the fitness of Erling Haaland ahead of their Premier League clash with Leicester City.

The Citizens will travel to the King Power Stadium on Saturday to face struggling Foxes in the early kick off.

Manchester City could move ahead of Arsenal in the Premier League table because the Gunners will not play until Sunday against Nottingham.




Guardiola has remained optimistic that Erling Haaland will be fit to face Brendan Roger's team members.


The Norway international was substituted at half time during Manchester City goalless draw with Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League in mid week.

Although Guardiola said that he took his lead striker out of the game because he looked tired and had fever.



Speaking on Friday afternoon, said: "Haaland feels better but we train this afternoon and we will assess him in the next few hours."






The 22 years old has been in great form since he arrived at the Etihad Stadium, scoring 17 goals in the league and 5 in the UEFA Champions League.

Guardiola also gave update on the injury of Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips.

Walker underwent a surgery which had ruled him out of the World Cup in Qatar this year.

While Phillips has been struggling with fitness since he arrived from Leeds United. Although Pep believes that the England midfielder is recovering well..


Guardiola added: "They (Walker and Phillips) are not ready for Leicester. They are better, Kalvin especially."
