Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen were both eliminated from the Champions League on Wednesday night as they played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Diego Simeone's side had to win against the German outfit to have any chance of progressing into the last-16 of Europe's biggest competition but had to settle for a point after Xabi Alonso's men had pegged them back.
Yannick Carrasco had opened the scoring in the first half before Moussa Diaby and a first goal for on-loan Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi flipped the game on its head before the interval.
Rodrigo de Paul struck just after half time to draw it level - and neither side could force a winner.
