19 years old Barcelona fullback Alejandro Balde handed first called up by Spain to replace José Gayá for 2022 World Cup

Barcelona fullback Alejandro Balde has been called up by Spain ahead of the forthcoming 2022 World Cup. 


The 19 year old is set to fly to Qatar to meet the rest of the squad ahead their campaign at the FIFA competition coming up in November this year 

Alejandro Balde is set to replace José Gayá who has pulled out of the tournament.

José Gayá will miss the World Cup due to an injury and coach Luis Enrique has decided to hand 19 years old Barcelona academy his first international call up.

Alejandro Balde has represented Spain in different age grade competitions but yet to make an official senior cap.
Alejandro Balde, born in Barcelona to Guinean and Dominican parents. The 19 years old full back has been at Barcelona since the age of 8.

The youngster made his debut on  14 September 2021, after replaced Jordi Alba in the 74th minute of a 3–0 loss to Bayern Munich in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
