Barcelona moved back to the top of La Liga table following their 2-0 win over Almeria on Saturday.
Xavi Hernandez side took advantage of the fact that their rival Real Madrid who were in number one 2ill not play until Monday night against Vallecano.
Goals from Ousmane Dembele and Frenkie De Jong in the second half earned the three points for the Blaugrana at Camp Nou.
Lewandowski missed penalty in 6th minutes
Barcelona could have taken the lead after six minutes but Robert Lewandowski failed to convert his penalty.
The first half finished goalless as Xavi Hernandez huff and puffed in front of goal.
Dembele put Barcelona the lead
But two minutes into the second half, Dembele found the back of the net to make it 1-0.
The French international did his sleeping goal celebration in front of the fans as he continues his fine form.
De Jong scored Barcelona's second goal
Frenkie De Jong then made it 2-0 after 61 minutes as Barcelona ensures that the game against Almeria was put to bed.
Pique played final game for Barcelona
Meanwhile, Barcelona Gerard Pique played his final game for the club.
The Spanish defender had revealed during the week that he would be retiring from club football after Almeria game.
Pique happens to be one of Barcelona greatest defenders. He left the club as an academy player in 2004 to join Manchester United in the Premier League.
The 35-year-old returned to Camp Nou four years later and won the treble in his first season.
What next for Gerard Pique after retirement?
We not sure of Pique plan after his retirement from playing football at club level.
Although, Reportminds Blog understands that Pique is working on becoming a coach in future.
It appears that 35 years old would prefer to move into football management, but at the moment he would rather take some break to spend with his family.
