Enzo Fernandes who scored winner for Argentina against Mexico begged Lionel Messi not to retire in 2016

Fernández, then a teenager, wrote an emotional letter to his idol in 2016 when Messi announced that he would no longer be playing for Argentina. 

Fernández pleaded with Messi to rethink his decision from announcing his retirement. 

Leonel Messi would say, "I’m not surprised by Enzo, I know him and I see him train every day."

The letter went thus:
