Many expected Foden to come off the bench but Southgate opted not to bring him on

Three Lions of England were held to a goalless in their secof group B clash in the on-going World Cup.

Gareth Southgate side have been able to gather four points after two games due to their goalless game against USA.

If you recall that England started the World Cup with a stunning 6-2 thumping of Iran on Monday afternoon.

Foden didn't start and Gareth Southgate opted to bring Marcus Rashford, Jack Grealish and Jordan Henderson off the bench over the Man City star as they searched for a goal

It's been gathered that Foden was not included in the starting line-up for the second match in a row, after he only came off the bench in their opening 6-2 win over Iran.

 Gareth Southgate opted to bring on Jordan Henderson, Jack Grealish and Marcus Rashford - while the Man City star was left on the bench for the entire 90th-minute. 

Former England international Owen tweeted: 'Astonished that we’ve used 14 players so far yet our most talented player is still sat on the bench.'

Social media was left baffled as to why Phil Foden didn't feature in England's draw with the USA

Piers Morgan also commented: 'FFS...Foden.. Foden... Foden... bring on fricking Foden.'

A number of social media users voiced their frustration at the decision to start Chelsea star Mason Mount over Foden. 

One wrote: 'Mount over Foden is a war crime at this point,' while another commented 'Mount over Foden is criminal.'

Twitter user @brh1981 added: 'To any normal person, Foden starts every single time. Just not if you're Gareth Southgate. 

England will now face Wales who are the blink of being eliminated from the FIFA World Cup 2022 competition. 

Recall that Wales lost to Iran in the early group B game which has left Welsh side with one point, bottom of the group.
