This article examines how manager Lionel Scaloni can prepare his side for the World Cup championship match versus France.

The South American side are among the favorites to win the FIFA competition this year in Qatar given their array of stars.

If you recall that Argentina suffered shock 2-1 defeat to Saudi Arabia on their opening group game but they have bounced back with winning games.

All throughout the field have contributed to the goals. Some of the names that scored goals as La Albiceleste advanced to the Qatar final include Nahuel Molina, Alexis MacAllister, Enzo Fernández, and Julián lvarez.

As Argentina looks to double up on Kylian Mbappé, a more prudent strategy would be to start with five at the back.

Formation 1:

Argentina XI vs France: Scaloni’s possible team
Martínez; Molina, Romero, Otamendi, Martínez, Acuña; De Paul, Fernández, Mac Allister; Messi, Álvarez.

Leandro Paredes would be removed from the middle if there was an additional defender. Tagliafico may be replaced in this system by Marcos Acua, who was suspended for the semifinal and might provide more of an attacking threat down the left.

Formation 2

Martínez; Molina, Romero, Otamendi, Tagliafico; De Paul, Fernández, Paredes, Mac Allister; Messi, Álvarez.

La Albiceleste would be able to keep a closer check on Antoine Griezmann, who has been outstanding for France in the competition, if there was an additional man in the middle of the field.

Formation 3

Martínez; Molina, Romero, Otamendi, Tagliafico; De Paul, Fernández, Mac Allister; Di María, Messi, Álvarez.

Angel Di Mara, who has missed some of the competition due to injury, may be included in a 4-3-3.
