Following his victory at the World Cup, Lionel Messi's contract with PSG has reportedly been extended for at least one more year.
Messi has given his statement to the Ligue 1 club that he'll put pen to paper based on new conditions before his ebb and flow bargain runs out toward the finish of the time, as per French paper Le Parisien.
It is alleged that the two parties reached an agreement while Messi was competing in the World Cup, which he won with Argentina on his fifth attempt. In recent months, there have been frequent talks with PSG, who want to bind the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner.
Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain on August 10th. He signed a contract for two years, ending in June 2023, with an additional year's option. The same number that Messi wore as a teenager when he made his senior debut for Barcelona was 30 for his squad number.
On August 29, Messi made his club debut, making an appearance as a substitute in the second half of a 2–0 away victory over Reims in Ligue 1. On September 15, he made his first start and made his Champions League debut for the club in a 1–1 home draw against Club Brugge. Messi made his home debut for PSG four days later in a 2–1 victory over Lyon.
Messi had 14 assists and 11 goals in his first season across all competitions. For the first time since 2005–06, he did not score more than six league goals during the season.
