In his first game back, Erling Haaland scored within ten minutes to give Manchester City the lead in their Carabao Cup matchup with Liverpool.
The Norwegian, who had scored a whopping 23 goals this season, nipped in ahead of Joe Gomez after receiving a cross from Kevin De Bruyne from the left.
City, who were a good value for their lead at the Etihad Stadium, got off to the perfect start.
Haaland had a strong start in his first Carabao Cup game, but a stat shows that he likes new challenges.
The 22-year-old has scored on his debut in six additional leagues, including the Premier League, DFL Supercup, DFB-Pokal, Bundesliga, Champions League, and Norwegian Football Cup, in addition to the Carabao Cup.
After a much better start, City was well-deserving of their lead, but the visitors responded in the 20th minute when Fabio Carvalho caressed his first-time shot past City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.
