A hopeful update has been provided by Jurgen Klopp regarding James Milner's hamstring injury and the other four players who did not play against Man City.
Milner started in a strong Liverpool team that played again on Thursday night, but he was forced to leave before the half due to a hamstring problem.
As soon as the veteran made the motion to leave, he took off his captain's armband. However, in an interview with Sky Sports after the game, Klopp stated that James Milner had high hopes.
“Milly is convinced it’s only a little, little, little thing,” he explained.
“But he felt something and we just wanted to make sure it’s not getting worse.
“It’s something in the hamstring, I don’t know. We have to see.”
The manager added: “All the rest should be fine.”
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp was referring to Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, and Virgil van Dijk, who were absent due to illness and injury, respectively.
“Trent was ill, like Ox was until yesterday. Virgil trained at the AXA today,” Klopp continued.
“All the others should be available apart from the long-term injuries.”
The manager also said that Ibrahima Konate won't be in the team because the France center back won't be back for training until next week.
