Erling Haaland has revealed that he should have scored more than two goals against Leeds United on Wednesday night.
The former Borussia Dortmund has been eager for the Premier League season to resume due to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Although, Haaland didn't participate because his national team, Norway didn't qualify for the FIFA competition.
After becoming the player to score 20 Premier League goals in the quickest time ever, Erling Haaland responded in a surprising way.
On Wednesday night at Elland Road, Manchester City defeated Leeds 3-1 to go back on the winning track. But it took the Citizens a lot of effort before they broke through against Leeds United. After Jack Grealish set him up again in the second half to give City complete control, Haaland finished the game with a brace.
Manchester City moved closer to Arsenal in the Premier League rankings after their victory against Leeds United.
With his two goals against Leeds United at Elland Road, Haaland broke the previous record of 21 games held by Sunderland's Kevin Phillips by becoming the player to achieve 20 Premier League goals in the quickest time ever.
The Norwegian told Amazon Prime after the game: "I said to my team-mates I could have scored five and that's the truth. That we win is the most important thing. Arsenal are at the top and we have to hunt them. I was at home on my sofa a bit mad that I wasn't playing at the World Cup.
"I was a commentator in my own home about the World Cup but nobody was listening to me. I recharged my batteries and watching other people scoring and winning games at the World Cup motivated and irritated me. I'm hungrier than ever."
