Neymar acknowledged that after suffering an ankle injury in their opening game against Serbia, he worried that his involvement in the World Cup in Qatar would be gone.
The 30-year-old was absent for his team's final two group matches against Switzerland and Cameroon but made an appearance in the starting lineup for Monday's 4-1 Round of 16 hammering of South Korea.
'I was afraid of not being able to play in this World Cup again but I had all the support of my friends and family and I tried to find strength where I could not find it,' said Neymar.
The Brazilian star made his comeback against South Korea on Monday, December 5, scoring a penalty in their 4-1 victory.
Paik Seung-ho, a player for South Korea, did manage to get one back late on with a fantastic long-range strike.
In just 123 appearances, Neymar scored his 76th goal for his country. He added a second goal that night when he calmly converted a penalty after Richarlison was fouled.
Brazil defeated South Korea 4-1 to advance to the World Cup quarterfinals, where they will play Croatia on Friday at 3 p.m. (GMT).
As they pursue their fifth World Cup in nation history, Neymar is predicted to lead the Seleaco to victory.
He added: 'I did not feel any pain in my ankle. I think my performance went very well and I'm very content, but that said I think we can always improve and that's what I will try to do.'
