But Reportminds Blog understands that the English trio were beaten out for the title of greatest midfielder in Premier League history by Kevin de Bruyne.

The Belgian midfielder was discussed, and the City player received the most votes from SPORTbible's users.

Since the start of the modern era of English football in 1992, Scholes, Gerrard, and Lampard have traditionally been regarded as the top players in their respective positions.

But a poll from SPORTbible's Twitter handle has seen the ex Chelsea midfielder claim 41.8% of votes casted by fans.

In 2015, Kevin De Bruyne moved to England from Germany and joined Manchester City after playing for Wolfsburg.
