Barcelona have been gathered dealt huge blow after Lewandowski three match suspension still stands despite several appeals.

Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski's three-match La Liga ban has been maintained.

After only 30 minutes, the Polish international's reckless attack on David Garcia earned him a second yellow card from referee Jesus Gil Manzano.

In an incident that he said was directed at Xavi and the Barcelona bench, Lewandowski looked to make a gesture that suggested Manzano was "on drugs."

Lewandowski's suspension was extended to three games after the RFEF and La Liga considered Manzano's assessment.

Both Lewandowski and Xavi criticized the call, and Barcelona unsuccessfully appealed the decision before bringing a second complaint to the Arbitration for Sports Tribunal.

He will miss the Catalan derby against Espanyol as well as league matches against Atletico Madrid and Real Betis, according to sources from Mundo Deportivo, since the appeal has been denied.
