Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, has said that four senior players' contracts have one-year extension clauses.

Fred, Diogo Dalot, Marcus Rashford, and Luke Shaw all had contracts that were set to end in June 2023, but each of them had the option of staying in place for an additional year.

“Yes, I can confirm it,” he told Zarah Connolly, in an interview you can watch in full on ManUtd.com, MUTV and the United App on matchday morning.

“We are happy because the squad is going in the right direction and those players [have] a massive contribution in that direction.”

The choice has been made to practice those separate increments, implying that the group of four are currently all under agreement until essentially the late spring of 2024.

Erik was questioned about media reports regarding the future of the four players in an exclusive interview to preview our first Premier League game since the World Cup, which is scheduled for next Tuesday at home against Nottingham Forest.
