PSG star Lionel Messi has confirmed his decision to continue to play for the national team of Argentina.



The 35-year-old famous footballer guided the Albiceleste to glory as they claim the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Argentina defeated the defending Champions, France in the final on Sunday after a penalty shoot out.

After a thrilling 120-minute 3-3 draw, Lionel Messi led Argentina to a surprise World Cup triumph by defeating the reigning champions France 4-2 on penalties.

Little more than ten minutes remained in the game, and Argentina had a well-deserved 2-0 lead when France stunned the South Americans with two goals from Kylian Mbappe in quick succession.

Both teams scored once more in the extra time, and the Albiceleste won the shootout 4-2 on penalties.


After the game, Messi was voted the player of the tournament as well the man of the match.

The former Barcelona star revealed in an interview that he will continue to play for the national team despite winning the World Cup.

If you recall that it was speculated that Messi would retire at the end of this year's edition of World Cup in Qatar.
