Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has taken to his social media feed to react after being booed by fans.
Following his embarrassing substitution at Besiktas in the 29th minute, DELE ALLI has spoken out.
After a disappointing time at Everton, the 26-year-old former England and Tottenham star signed with the Turkish giants in the summer.
Alli has struggled to rediscover his form which he displayed during his spell at Tottenham Hotspur under former manager Mauricio Pochettino.
According to Reportminds Blog, Alli did not score a goal or contribute an assist in his five league games with Besiktas prior to the World Cup break
Then, on Wednesday, he was kicked off before the half-hour mark when he got back on the field for a cup match against Sanliurfasport, who play in the third division.
However, despite the embarrassment of this week, he has taken to social media to assert that his passion for football will never let him give up.
Alli posted a photo of himself embracing a ball tight to his chest while in preparing at Besiktas on his Instagram. He captioned it with: “You saved my life. That’s why I will always love you.”
As one of two early changes made by manager Senol Gunes, Alli was replaced by Gedson Fernandes, a fellow ex-Spurs player. Fans appeared to boo him as he left the field.
Besiktas' Alli was leading by 2-0 at the time of the substitutions, and a stunning upset appeared likely.
The top-flight team, on the other hand, came back strongly in the second half to win 4-2.
