In Ondo, a student at FUTA's 300-level commits suicide.
Oluwapelumi Joseph Olona, a student at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Ondo State, committed suicide.
The industrial design student hanged himself in his room at an off-campus guesthouse in the Aule district of Akure city using buckets.
On January 21, 2023, early on Saturday, his close pals pushed through his room door and discovered his dead.
According to sources, his pals were uneasy when he failed to answer his phone calls and remained closed to them despite repeated knocks at his door.
Although the reason for his behavior was not yet known, pupils in the area where he resided suggested that it may be related to his struggles with depression and money problems.
Some of his roommates remembered the deceased, who was known to his friends as "Black," as a cheery student who never got into disagreements or fights with anyone.
