The Gunners who are top of the Premier League table will host fourth placed Manchester United at the Emirates stadium on Sunday evening.

Despite having previously played for both teams, Alexis Sanchez posted his support for Arsenal in an attempt to criticize Manchester United before their Sunday visit to The Emirates.

When United travels to face the Premier League leaders, the margin at the top may be reduced to just five points, which could throw the battle for the championship wide open.

However, Sanchez, a past underperformer, has written on his Instagram showing his love for the Gunners, so Erik ten Hag is convinced the Reds won't be getting any words of support from him.
Sanchez shared a clip from Arsenal's account showcasing a goal he scored for the team against United in a 3-0 victory in 2015 while writing:

'You remembered me. I will never forget you too. You will always be in my heart.

'You were my first family in England and everyone took good care of me, especially the fans! All the best Gunners!!

Before being persuaded to join Manchester United in 2018 in a trade that saw Henrik Mkhitaryan move in the opposite direction, Sanchez had a standout three and a half-year stint at Arsenal, scoring 80 goals in 166 games.
The winger struggled to establish stability or a regular spot in the team throughout his time at Old Trafford, unable to match the performances he had been hailed for at Arsenal.

The 34-year-old was finally loaned out in 2019 after scoring just five goals before making a permanent move to Inter Milan.

When many believed Sanchez was at the height of his powers, his choice to depart North London for a Premier League competitor first seemed to harm his connection with Arsenal supporters.

Nevertheless, the former Barcelona star now seems to be making every effort to repair that bond in front of Sunday's crucial matchup between two of his former teams.

Sanchez will be supporting Mikel Arteta's Premier League championship contenders from Marseille in Ligue 1, as a revitalized United team attempts to win only their fifth league game at The Emirates in fifteen years.
