Danny Murphy, a former Liverpool player, has pushed Arsenal to pursue Declan Rice of West Ham, who is valued at £80 million.
Murphy argues that Mikel Arteta's team is overly dependent on Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka and that Rice will blend in wonderfully with them.
After this season, Rice has drawn interest from a number of Premier League clubs, and there have been rumors that Rice may leave West Ham.
As they attempt to bolster their team, Rice is said to be Arsenal's main target this summer.
If you recall that Chelsea hijacked the Gunners long time target in Mykhaylo Mudryk for fee in region of £100m.
Mikel Arteta was hoping to land the 22-year-old Ukraine forward for 80m pounds until The Blues paid the required fee from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Right now, Arsenal are eyeing a move for Declan Rice who has been admired by Chelsea for a long time.
Speaking about Rice, Murphy told talkSPORT: “I think that would be a huge, huge move for Arsenal.
“I think he would be the perfect type for Arsenal because they are heavily reliant on Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka.”
