Chelsea coach Graham Potter have confirmed that midfielder will be out for their game against Liverpool.
After defeating London rivals Crystal Palace 1-0 on Sunday at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea is back on the winning track. Kai Havertz scored the lone goal for the Blues in the second half.
The Blues will now focus on their next English Premier League match against a faltering Liverpool team. The Merseyside Reds seek to turn things around against Chelsea after losing their most recent game, which they lost 3-0 to Brighton at the AMEX Stadium last week.
Both Chelsea and Liverpool have been inconsistent so far in this season as they sit outside the top four spot, with Reds in 8th and Chelsea in 10th position in the Premier League table.
Denis Zakaria, a notable player for Chelsea, has been announced as out injured for this match. The Swiss midfielder's injury from their 2-1 Premier League loss to Fulham last Thursday will likely keep him out for four weeks.
Last summer, Juventus, one of the top teams in Serie A, loaned Zakaria to Chelsea.
The Swizz international just starting finding his feet under Potter since he arrived at Stamford Bridge until the injury set back.
Graham Potter announced Zakaria's injury during the Blues' 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League; “Denis will probably be out for four weeks, so that is a blow for us.”
