Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic is pleading with Jude Bellingham to choose Germany over Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Edin Terzic, the manager of Borussia Dortmund, is pleading with Jude Bellingham to stay in Germany and turn off offers from Liverpool and Real Madrid.
Bellingham, an English midfielder, has drawn significant interest from clubs all over Europe. Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Liverpool are thought to be among the front-runners to sign the youngster.
Since returning from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the 19-year-old has allegedly conducted crucial conversations with the Bundesliga team about his next move.
Boss Terzic is hoping Bellingham would defy the norm and stick with the club to support them rather than leave.
'I believe that we need to work on keeping these young guys one year longer,' Terzic told The Athletic.
'In my first season [as interim manager], I was able to put Jadon, Jude and Erling on the pitch, but that was their only year together.'
Although Bellingham's current deal doesn't expire until the conclusion of the 2024–25 season, it seems more probable that he will leave Signal Iduna Park.
The midfielder has made 22 club appearances, scoring nine goals and dishing out three assists while occasionally serving as team captain. He also scored England's opening World Cup goal against Iran in Qatar.
He added: 'That was also partly due to COVID-19 and empty stadiums, there were financial considerations.
'But if we can get to the point where it's two or three years of such a trio, maybe we can break the mould.'
The Bundesliga will resume this weekend after a lengthy winter break, marking Bellingham's first gameback after shining at the World Cup.
